Net-Mail - General Information

WHAT IS NET-MAIL?

Net-Mail operates to fill the communication gaps that can occur between Parent Bodies and their Member Organisations in committee handover and role changes. Net-Mail achieves this by drawing on the strengths of modern web based email communication channels, creating a direct, reliable and flexible line of communication between all levels of Netball. Put simply, it is a web-based email service similar to the worldwide Hotmail and Google email services, except customised to cater to the needs of Netball Queensland – it entitles each Association to a single professional email account which may then be used for all official correspondence. Designated members and volunteers of your Association may be registered, and can then log in from any internet location to send and receive emails on behalf of their Association.

For Member Organisations, Net-Mail is available at no cost. Each Association is provided with a single professional email address, for example downeypark@netball.asn.au. Designated members and volunteers of your Association may be registered, and can then log in from any internet location to send and receive emails on behalf of their Association to the general public, members, suppliers and parent bodies. There is no ‘Delete’ button and so emails remain as a permanent record of correspondence. This avoids important communications being erased and will ensure that future Association committees and volunteer administrators have complete access to all past and present communications.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The functions of Net-Mail have been designed to follow standard email system layouts while still being synchronised with some of the other modules offered on NMAS. We have developed an instructional guide for all new users to follow. In time, Net-Mail will become the primary mode of communication for formal correspondence sent from Netball Queensland to our Member Associations. Consequently, we encourage all Associations to register as soon as possible to utilise this free and beneficial service.

HOW DOES MY ASSOCIATION REGISTER FOR NET-MAIL?

Net-Mail registration forms are included in the Full Member Association Affiliation Booklet. These enable your Association to select who has access to the system. As committee members may change throughout the year, Net-Mail users can be added and removed at any time by resubmitting this form which can be sourced from the Netball Queensland website. Net-Mail is a permanent archiving system, therefore correspondence is easy to track and the committee member handover process is simplified.

If your Association is not already registered to use NMAS for 2011, you will need to fill out an NMAS Registration Form from the Netball Queensland website and return this via post.

Please Note: All Association personnel allocated access to NMAS and Net-Mail must be registered members and recorded on the NMAS database for the current year.
