True Sport Lives Here

Netball Queensland has been working with the Queensland Government to develop an innovative program to encourage positive behaviour by all those involved in junior sport. The program is called True Sport Lives Here (True Sport). The Minister for Local Government, Planning, and Sport launched True Sport on 9 June 2007.

True Sport can assist your clubs to encourage and reward positive behaviour in junior Netball environments by providing:

Education and training through:
- a one-stop-shop of practical resources including codes of ethics, behaviour management policy, fact sheets and ground announcements recorded by True Sport ambassadors; and
- a series of workshops across Queensland which will equip your clubs with the tools you need to encourage positive behaviour in junior sporting environments; and
An ambassador program including:
- High profile ambassadors
- Community ambassadors �simply submit your �success� stories on how your club has implemented strategies to encourage and reward positive behaviour in your junior sporting environment.

As you are aware Netball Queensland already has strategies in place to combat ensure children have fun playing sport and being active. True Sport aims to compliment these already existing strategies.

We are working with Sport, Recreation and Racing (SRR) to send the True Sport resource package to all of our associations in the coming months.

Associations will be asked to submit Game (Operational) Plans to show how they intend to implement and promote the True Sport message. This is not meant to be a complex document it will simply show Netball Queensland and provide your Association with a plan of action to implement the True Sport initiative.
